I graduated from Valencia and then attended the University
of Central Florida (UCF) where I received my Masters of
Science Degree in Clinical Psychology. I also have a Doctorate
from UCF in the field of Education. Prior to coming to Valencia
Community College to teach, I was a therapist working in
both a hospital and community mental health center setting.
I have also worked with children with a variety of pervasive
developmental disorders.
I am also a Faculty Intern Supervisor for students who
participate in the psychology internship program. Valencia
has some wonderful internships available to students. One
of psychology's most popular internship experiences is working
at Sea World at Shamu Stadium where student "whale
watchers" collect data on Orca development. The data
being collected is important to understanding how growth,
development and communication occurs among Orcas. This internship
experience has been tracking the development of the different
Orca calves born here at the Orlando Sea World.
